lyrics

Dear Kestrel,

I look back at the footprints in the sand
look ahead at the ocean and dive
head first
my arms piercing the horizon line

I'm mirrored
torn at the surface
protruding limbs: the lowest of the horizon
submerged limbs: the highest of the upside down

Dear Kes,
if I said I'm buoyant
how much would you care
on a scale of hope to anxiety?

I swim aimlessly
waiting for god to seep up my pores
and nestle in a juicy cyst

Dear Kestrel,
I've swam too far
the coast has become but a spec
please send your next message in a bottle
